My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.  Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.       2 Corinthians 12:9

The Beginning of a long winter.....of colds

Rebekah has been admitted to the hospital here at home. She had a rough night of coughing and little sleep. She has RSV which is causing her to have trouble breathing. Basically a common cold for our boys, but a serious problem for her with all her other difficulties. So we are greeting the winter season much as we did last year with a trip to the hospital. We hope she will get over this quickly and be back home soon. We also are praying that this will be her only trip this winter.

We will keep everyone updated as she fights of yet another cold.

Thank you for your prayers and support,
D

Moving on up!!

Rebekah has gotten her traveling papers. She is moving out of the PCICU today. She and Nancy will be moving into a regular room in the Children's Hospital. They will have their own room and will be able to have the brothers come visit at some point.

I am heading home to take care of some things and to see the boys. Rebekah's next goal is to continue feeds by NG tube and eating from a bottle. Also she needs to gain some weight and then we will be able to bring all the ladies home.

We are so thankful the Lord has brought her this far.

Heading to OR

We are ready and heading to the OR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are delivering in OR as a precaution not having a C-Section.

Water......

They just broke Nancy's water. Still at a 4. Things should move along faster now.

Epidural

Nancy just got her epidural. She is doing so well on her own they are holding off on the pitocin. Next they will break her water in a bit.

D

Morning All

We had a long night. Well I snuck in some sleep, but Bekah and Mommy are tired. Nancy is doing well. She is currently at a 4 and waiting on her epidural to be put in. After this is done they will wait a little bit and then break her water. They are also going to start some pitocin shortly after the epidural is in. Shouldn't be to much longer and little one will be here.

D

Pain meds

We are progressing along. So far Nancy is dealing with the pain of contractions well. She has just gotten her first dose of IV pain killer. They are coming back in to start some insulin in a few minutes. Nancy's sugar is to high. They don't want Bekah to have a sugar crash when she comes out. Nancy is trying to get a little sleep for a bit.

Another week closer

Monday - yet another Dr. appointment. Not much to report so far this week. Nancy and Rebekah are both are doing well. Thankfully the Lord allowed whatever heart fluctuations from last week to go away. So we are marching onward towards July 9th. Nancy is busy finishing Rebekah's room and thinking of packing for Charleston. We are continuing to lean on the Lord and to trust him for all our needs as we prepare for one of the biggest challenges we have faced together since we got married.

Baby Shower

Due to Mommy not feeling well today, Rebekah and I will try to post this and Mommy can edit or add to it later.

Mommy and I had a nice surprise yesterday.  I am amazed at how sneaky Daddy and several of Mommy's friends are.  They managed to pull off a surprise shower for Mommy and Me.  After 3 months of planning and wondering if it all could be done, we did it.

Mommy had Grammy, Aunt Aimee, and Cousin Peyton come to take Mommy to lunch and shopping, but what Mommy didn't know was that they were taking her to my shower.  Mommy was very shocked and enjoyed it very much.  I want to thank everyone that helped plan and who attended for a really nice luncheon for Mommy and Me.  Mommy and Daddy want to thank everyone for all the nice gifts that everyone brought for me.  Also, we want to thank Ms. Peyton for all the clothes she passed to me that she is no longer using.

Daddy and Mommy worked on hanging some things on my walls last night.  Daddy and I thought it best not to post any pictures yet.  Mommy wouldn't be too happy with us if you all saw my messy room.  When Mommy is feeling better and has time to sort it all out and put things away then Daddy and I will post some pictures.

Love you all,
Rebekah Grace

Doctor visit update

Finally, a chance to get everyone updated.  It has been a very busy week.

Nancy had a regular check up Thursday with Dr. Lattimore. Rebekah and Nancy are doing pretty well. They are a little concerned that Nancy is measuring 2 weeks behind. They will check Rebekah's growth next week at Dr. Greig's.(ultrasound) We are praying that this will not be an issue that will cause Rebekah to have to come early. Other then Nancy having a bad cold all are doing well this week.
